Those who own or manage high-rise residential building (HRB) are being urged by the HSE to start preparations for new legislation. Each building will require detailed and accurate information so that managers can prepare a Safety Case Report and register the building. This will be required once the Building Safety Bill is enacted, although there’s no firm date when this will be.
The information to gather includes the build date, relevant standards of construction at the time, materials used and the design intent (why it was built and construction method).
HSE guidance is also available on preparing for the new building safety framework.
